Aalila Sree Krishna (Baby Sree Krishna on the Leaf)

The divine child resting amid lotus flowers and curling waters

Story

This intimate image presents Sree Krishna not as king or charioteer, but as the divine child. He lies easily across a broad green leaf, turning towards the viewer while lifting one foot to his lips. The pose is playful and tender, yet the halo and peacock feather quietly reveal the cosmic identity held within the child.

The leaf floats on a field of curling blue-green water crowded with pink lotuses. Behind Sree Krishna, red, coral and green foliage rises into a decorative arch, while bands of white cloud move across the warm sky. Every part of the scene seems to bend inward and shelter him.

The painting balances softness with dense detail. Sree Krishna's blue skin is gently stippled, while the necklaces, bangles and waist ornaments are drawn bead by bead. The broad leaf and repeated water spirals keep the ornate figure buoyant rather than heavy.
